How to Select the Right RFID Components
All RFID systems have a few things in common. There are three main components: the tag, read head, and controller. The RFID tag mounts to the product or fixture and carries the tracking information. The read head is the device that communicates to the tag and performs all of the required read/write commands. The last component is the controller. This device multiplexes multiple read/write heads back to an upper-level bus system. This upper-level system carries all of the information to the PLC for proper tracking and control.
